Evaluating Wedding Ideas

When you start planning a Wedding you will get a lot of input from everyone that thinks they should have an opinion on how your day should go.  The best you can hope for is that the bride is allowed to pick her helpers. Then if someone is called on to help out then they help out without putting up a fight.

But sometimes some people have some pretty good Wedding ideas and it may not be a bad idea to take some of these Wedding ideas and incorporate them into your Wedding.  It also helps if you have actually been to a couple of Weddings to see how things work.  Of course, if you never get the chance to get to a Wedding before you start planning your own, then you are on your own, but there is help out there.

Honestly, the best Wedding ideas come from the people that get paid a huge sum of money to come up with great Wedding ideas.  There is a reason that Wedding planners get paid a lot of money and those reasons are that they come up with some great ideas and then it is their job to make sure the ideas get executed perfectly.  If the Wedding planner’s Wedding ideas do not get executed perfectly then, for what you pay the Wedding planner, you can then execute the Wedding planner.  But usually they have some incredible Wedding ideas and the Weddings planned by Wedding planners do not go horribly wrong like they do in the movies.

Thinking Outside The Box

Remember that any far-out Wedding ideas you get have to be pulled off. Before you start insisting that the head table at the reception be made totally out of frosting, you may want to consult some people who know about that stuff and see if this is practical and possible.  There is no such thing as a bad idea when you are brainstorming; there is only the bad decision to put a bad idea into action.  So be sure to check all the angles on your idea before you start pulling any triggers to get it off the ground.  Yes it is your special day but the laws of common sense and physics cannot be suspended just for you.

The indication that you are on to a bad Wedding idea is if enough people that know what they are doing tell you that it is simply impossible to pull off your idea.  You have a Wedding to plan and if you spend months obsessing on how to get a fountain that uses ice cream and keeps the ice cream cold all night long then you miss out on the other important stuff you have to plan.  Pace yourself and make sure you get enough expert advice.

A Break from Tradition - Cupcake Wedding Cakes

Weddings take a lot of planning and preparation. From setting the date to returning from the honeymoon, there are dozens, if not hundreds of choices to make. One of these choices is the cake for the Wedding or reception. Here is an inexpensive way to reduce the hassle of the Wedding cake.

While traditional Wedding cakes remain the most popular choice, there are several others gaining popularity. Cupcake Wedding cakes are one of these alternatives. Cupcake cakes are cupcakes arranged in an elegant stand or tray to resemble a Wedding cake. These cakes can be any shape and size that traditional cakes are but have a couple distinct advantages.

Traditional Wedding cakes are almost always made entirely of the same flavor. Some guests may prefer a different flavor and by using cupcakes you can offer this. Using different flavored cupcakes allows everyone to choose based on their individual tastes.

Cupcake Wedding cakes can also be less costly than traditional cakes. To keep costs down even more you can make the cake yourself or get friends and family to pitch in to make it together.

If you are going to make the cake yourself you will need to decide how many cupcakes you will need and how they will be displayed. A bakery may be able to assist you with a cupcake stand or there are many choices available through the internet.

Transporting the cupcakes may also be a concern. Some stands may work better during transportation than other stands. Another option is to use trays, cookie sheets, and boxes to lay the cupcakes in and set up the display at the Wedding reception site. Don’t be afraid to ask family and friends to help move the cakes if you have made them yourself.

Cupcake Wedding cakes can look stunning and can be coordinated to multiple Wedding colors. They are flexible, easy to manage, and make a great choice for any Wedding. Use your imagination and create something extravagant or keep it simple and focus on other parts of the Wedding. The choice is up to you.

How to Make a 3 Level Wedding Cake

Today Wedding cakes are a huge affair, the bigger the better, the fancier the better too. Having Wedding cakes with fountains to light them up is all the rage. This article takes a look at just how you go about making a tiered Wedding cake stand. Yes, some people make their own Wedding cakes instead of buying them! Some make them out of sheer pride because they happen to be excellent bakers; others unfortunately are forced to do it at home due to budget constraints.

Since it’s a tiered Wedding cake stand you will need to have three cake tins of varying sizes - 12, 9 and 6 inches should do just fine. Bake your cakes as you normally would and then put the pans aside. Cut the three cakes into two layers each so that you have six halves in total.

Cut out of cardboard 3 circles that are the same circumference of your 3 tins. Set the bottom halves of the cake on their matching cardboard pieces. Now is the fun part where you get to decorate the cakes. Start by putting your choice of filling between each pair of cake halves. The cakes will need to set in the fridge for around thirty minutes. Now bring them out and start placing the bottom layer on the stand you have prepared and then place the other two layers on. Don’t forget to put protection between each layer of the cake to ensure that they stay in place. This is very important so do not forget or you will have your entire cake toppling over.

Now you can complete your decorations. You can also decorate the stand itself, which should ideally match the colors of the Wedding. That’s it! Your new tiered Wedding cake and stand is now ready for the big day.
