Evaluating Wedding Ideas

When you start planning a Wedding you will get a lot of input from everyone that thinks they should have an opinion on how your day should go.  The best you can hope for is that the bride is allowed to pick her helpers. Then if someone is called on to help out then they help out without putting up a fight.

But sometimes some people have some pretty good Wedding ideas and it may not be a bad idea to take some of these Wedding ideas and incorporate them into your Wedding.  It also helps if you have actually been to a couple of Weddings to see how things work.  Of course, if you never get the chance to get to a Wedding before you start planning your own, then you are on your own, but there is help out there.

Honestly, the best Wedding ideas come from the people that get paid a huge sum of money to come up with great Wedding ideas.  There is a reason that Wedding planners get paid a lot of money and those reasons are that they come up with some great ideas and then it is their job to make sure the ideas get executed perfectly.  If the Wedding planner’s Wedding ideas do not get executed perfectly then, for what you pay the Wedding planner, you can then execute the Wedding planner.  But usually they have some incredible Wedding ideas and the Weddings planned by Wedding planners do not go horribly wrong like they do in the movies.

Thinking Outside The Box

Remember that any far-out Wedding ideas you get have to be pulled off. Before you start insisting that the head table at the reception be made totally out of frosting, you may want to consult some people who know about that stuff and see if this is practical and possible.  There is no such thing as a bad idea when you are brainstorming; there is only the bad decision to put a bad idea into action.  So be sure to check all the angles on your idea before you start pulling any triggers to get it off the ground.  Yes it is your special day but the laws of common sense and physics cannot be suspended just for you.

The indication that you are on to a bad Wedding idea is if enough people that know what they are doing tell you that it is simply impossible to pull off your idea.  You have a Wedding to plan and if you spend months obsessing on how to get a fountain that uses ice cream and keeps the ice cream cold all night long then you miss out on the other important stuff you have to plan.  Pace yourself and make sure you get enough expert advice.

Written wedding vows before

Your Wedding vows are the words that will forever remain in your partner’s heart and memory. So you want to ensure that you express exactly what you are feeling and how much you love them. Most people have never written Wedding vows before and they aren’t quite sure how to communicate what they feel into words. Here are some helpful guidelines to ensure that the feelings in your heart are encompassed in your Wedding vows:

1. Sit down with your fiancée and put some general expectations in place for your Wedding vows - such as how long and how in-depth they should be.

2. Begin brainstorming. Think about your relationship and everything you’ve gone through together. Focus, perhaps, on a specific situation such as the moment when you realized that this was the person you were meant to be with.

3. If you use nicknames or lovable expressions with your fiancée (honey or sweetheart) you may want to incorporate these into your Wedding vows.

4. If tradition is important to you, review some examples of conventional Wedding vows. Most begin with “in the name of God, I (your name) take you (your fiancée’s name) to be my lawfully wedded wife/husband.” You may consider reciting your vows in a similar manner.

5. Avoid sad memories or stories about you and your partner fighting. Wedding vows are meant to express the joys of being together. Therefore you should focus on the positive.

6. Once you’ve jotted down your ideas, you’ll want to express them in a smooth and flowing manner. You may want to start with past memories and work your way to the present instead of jumping randomly from topic to topic, as this will give the impression that you took little time to prepare your vows.

7. Incorporate common expressions of love such as “I love you” or “I can’t live with out you”.

8. Once you have completed your vows be sure to read them over 2 or 3 times to ensure that they convey exactly what you want your partner to know. You might want to have a friend, family member or your Wedding officiant to read them to ensure that they are appropriate and meaningful.

It’s important to personalize your Wedding vows and make them unique to you and your fiancée. Wedding vows are meant to convey your feelings of love. They explain why you’re choosing to spend the rest of your life with your partner. Regardless of what you write, your partner loves you and is going to cherish your Wedding vows as long as they come from the heart.

Some Tips for Writing Your Wedding Vows

Writing your own Wedding vows can be a way to ensure that your vows express your exact sentiment. Many vows commonly used in Weddings are very lovely and express your love for each other but they are usually not specific to the couple. While it is not necessary to write your own vows, many couples opt to do so in order to make sure that the vows that they recite at the Wedding are meaningful to them as a couple. It is not important that you be an eloquent writer to write beautiful Wedding vows. What is important though is that you write from your heart. This will ensure that your vows express your feelings adequately and in a way that your partner will understand.

The first tip for writing your Wedding vows is to make sure that both you and your partner are committed to reciting original vows. Many couples are not comfortable expressing something so personal in front of others. While the love that is expressed in pre-written vows is also personal, it does not leave the couple feeling so vulnerable. There are plenty of existing vows available and a couple should realize that they are free to use these existing vows and are under no obligation to write their own vows.

Once you have decided that you would like to write your own Wedding vows you might want to consider whether or not you want your vows to have a theme or themes. Love is sure to be an underlying theme in any vow but you may also want to incorporate other ideas in your vows as well. Virtues of trust, understanding, friendship and honesty may be a few themes that you may want to include in your vows.

Another tip for writing your Wedding vows is to make sure the vows are written well before your Wedding date. It is important not to procrastinate with writing your vows because if you put it off until the night before the Wedding you are likely to become stressed out and have a great deal of difficulty writing your vows. Writing your vows well in advance of your Wedding helps to eliminate stress and allows you time to really think about what you want your vows to say to your partner.

Writing your own Wedding vows can be difficult. The most difficult part of writing your own Wedding vows is just getting started. Chances are that once you get on a roll you will be able to write freely but getting started can be difficult. For this reason, you may choose to read through a number of existing vows. This will help you to get a feel for the language that is used in vows and can give you some ideas about how you want your vows to read.

An important tip for writing your Wedding vows is to make sure that you have plenty of quiet time to work on your vows when you do sit down to start writing them. This may be a long arduous process and it is important to allow plenty of time to write your vows. If you know that you have an appointment in less than an hour, it is probably not a good time to start working on your Wedding vows.

Considering cowriting your vows with your partner is another tip for writing meaningful vows. You may choose to write your vows completely on your own to ensure that they are a surprise for your partner but you may also wish to work on your vows with your partner so that the two of you can enjoy the process of writing your vows together. This can be a wonderful opportunity to reminisce and remember the good times that you have shared.

Still another useful tip for writing your Wedding vows is to avoid talking about the bad times. While you may wish to include these to demonstrate how you and your partner have persevered and overcome many obstacles, this type of talk can be upsetting to your partner and your guests. Sticking to the happy memories helps to make the vows more lighthearted and does not make them any less meaningful.

It is also important to not worry about the length of your vows. You may feel compelled to shorten a long drawn out vow because you feel as though it may bore those in attendance or you may feel as though you need to add onto vows that are concise but this is not necessary. All that truly matters is whether you think you have adequately conveyed the desired sentiment in your vows.

Another tip for writing your Wedding vows is to not be afraid to use language from a song that is special to you and your partner as a couple. Chances are that the two of you enjoy a meaningful song because it is symbolic of your relationship. In this situation it is appropriate to recite a portion of the lyrics as part of your vows.

A final tip for writing original Wedding vows is to first make a list of all the things that you love and admire about your partner. You might want to create this list and then set it aside for a few days before you begin writing your vows. When you are ready to start working on your Wedding vows, you could read the list that you had previously written to remind you of all the wonderful characteristics your partner possess and to get you really thinking about your partner.

Writing original Wedding vows can be difficult but many couples believe that original vows are more meaningful than preexisting ones. Following the tips above will help to make the vow writing process a little easier by providing you with a few basic guidelines for writing your vows. It is important to remember the original vows are not obligatory and that it is perfectly acceptable to use existing vows if you choose to do so.
